Whiz — turning every rental into a travel business
Overview

A digital monetisation layer for EVM's existing rental business.

Not a new fleet. Not a new company. Whiz sits on top of what EVM already owns — the vehicles, the customers, the infrastructure — and earns from the journey after the keys are handed over. EVM owns the vehicle. Whiz owns the journey around it.

Branding

From EVM Wheels to Whiz.

EVM Wheels is a strong mark for the rental business it represents today. Whiz is built for a different job — the customer-facing digital layer — which is why the two sit side by side, not compete. Whiz by EVM carries the parent's credibility while giving the new layer room to grow.

Why the name fits this role

•

Built for small surfaces

A short, single word reads clearly on app icons, notification badges and social handles where a compound name can't.

•

Not anchored to "wheels"

Room to represent hotels, experiences and trip planning as naturally as it represents a vehicle.

•

A gradient built for motion

Suited to an app screen and to discovery — a different medium than the bold print identity EVM Wheels was made for.

•

A matched pair

The full wordmark for documents, headers and signage; a compact "Wz" mark for app icons, favicons and square surfaces.

Directions explored

A few brand directions were tested before settling on the gradient wordmark used throughout — each built around movement, discovery, and a seamless transition from reliable mobility to memorable travel.

The Opportunity

How much more can EVM earn from every customer it already acquires?

Same customer. Same vehicle. More revenue — simply by staying useful after the keys are handed over. EVM already has the vehicles, the customers and the infrastructure. Whiz adds the monetisation layer on top; it doesn't duplicate any of it.

"Whiz does not replace EVM Wheels. It makes EVM Wheels more valuable."

"EVM owns the vehicle. Whiz owns the journey around it."

How Whiz Makes Money

A second revenue motion the affiliate model doesn't reach.

EVM's affiliate model runs Partner → Customer → EVM Rental. Whiz runs the other direction — EVM Customer → Hotel / Activity / Restaurant / Experience — monetising the customer after the rental is already booked. Activities means local experiences around the destination: treks, water sports, guided tours, cultural experiences — discovered on Whiz Map and booked directly inside the app.

Whiz Map

A rental-aware travel planner — not another maps app.

Whiz Map already knows the vehicle rented, how long it's booked, where it must be returned, and the customer's stated interests — then plans around those constraints, not just distance. Search, categories, curated pins and bookable "Whiz Picks" live in one screen.

Tell it "Couple + 2 days + Nature" and it returns a complete, editable itinerary — not a list of nearby attractions. Discover → Plan → Book → Drive → Explore. Every stop, including activities around the destination, is navigable and bookable inside the app. The customer never leaves Whiz to confirm a hotel, a table, or an experience.

Connected mobility
The 90-day Kochi pilot
Connected Mobility · Phase 2

Solving the full journey — not just the rental days in the middle of it.

A future extension, not a day-one build. Enabled through EVM's own operations where practical and licensed mobility partners where necessary. The value: more convenience, more transactions per customer, cross-city retention, and a much stronger fit for business travellers and NRIs.

The Customer Journey

Every arrow is a moment EVM has no presence in today.

Each step on the chain — from planning a trip, to renting, to eating, staying and exploring — is a moment Whiz is built to earn from, or retain the customer through.

The 90-Day Kochi Pilot

Small, measurable, financially responsible.

Existing vehicles, existing customers, a fixed 90 days. A contained pilot is the lowest-risk way to test this before any wider commitment — no new fleet, no new customer base, only a small slice of both, run long enough to produce a real number in place of an assumption.

01

Run on a live slice

A small, existing slice of EVM's Kochi rentals and customers — nothing new to acquire.

02

Measure the primary metric

Incremental revenue per rental customer — the one number that decides go / no-go.

03

Watch the secondary signals

Add-on & partner conversion, revenue from partner bookings, repeat rate, vehicle utilisation, map engagement, CSAT, CAC.

The Business Case

Prove the economics first. Scale only if the numbers work.

No EVM financials are assumed — this is a framework, not a forecast. The pilot finds the real incremental-revenue number for EVM's own customers and fleet; once known, it can be multiplied against actual rental volume to size the opportunity honestly, rather than estimating it upfront.

Recommended next step

A contained 90-day pilot is the lowest-risk way to test this before any wider commitment. It needs no new fleet and no new customer base — only a small, existing slice of both, run long enough inside EVM's own operation to produce a real number in place of an assumption.

EVM owns the vehicle. Whiz owns the journey around it.

A brand and a product, built to make EVM Wheels more valuable — ready to prove itself in 90 days.
